Financial Aid Application

1) Students receiving federally-sponsored aid (e.g Pell or Perkins
grants, PLUS or other Federal loans) may be able to apply this aid to
the ALBA Program. If you are in this situation, upon admission you 
should immediately ask your own school’s Financial Aid Office to send
a "Consortium Agreement" form to be sent to ALBA, which will be filled
out by ALBA and PSU and returned to the originating school where you
are currently enrolled. This process can take up to ten or more weeks,
so it is important to start now. (State- and School-sponsored aid does
not usually transfer, but you should also ask your Financial Aid Office
about possible transfer of these sources).

2) ALBA is able to offer financial aid to students who may require it,
after figuring in their transferable aid (as noted in (1) above), as 
well as their personal contribution (usually your own and parental
resources, but also including direct support by other persons or 
agencies that may not require an application process).Typically, ALBA’s
support is in the form of full- or half- tuition, but does not cover 
fees chargeable directly to ALBA (the non-refundable deposit due upon
admission), nor travel, housing and personal expenses. Occasionally, 
aid amounts may differ from the norm (but not exceeding 100% of tuition),
and may involve some work-study responsibilities of a very limited 
nature (not more than 4 hours per week).

3) ALBA does not normally provide financial aid for summer terms, but 
may have some limited funds available to help with auxiliary expenses.
