Student Services in Barcelona

ALBA students

Dates of Terms, Tuition and Fees

Dates and Costs
ALBA's academic calendar, and the fact that courses are stand-alone and need not be taken in sequence, enables students from semester- as well as quarter- or trimester-based schools to attend. In addition, we are one of very few academic institutions to have kept our cost increases to little more than the domestic US rates of price inflation despite the significant fall in the dollar's value against the Euro, while maintaining small, seminar-style classes with high academic standards.

Student Housing Options in Barcelona

Housing Options and Costs
ALBA offers a wider variety of housing options than most programs, from the typical homestay with half-board and shared bathroom, to those with breakfast-only and/or private bath options, as well as shared or private apartment living. As with academic tuition, we have kept the costs of student accommodation as affordable as we can feasibly sustain given the recent rapid increases in the Euro's value and housing costs in the Barcelona region generally.

Application for admission to ALBA Study Abroad in Barcelona

Applying for admission to the ALBA Program in Barcelona is very straightforward, and has been streamlined based on years of study-abroad administrative experience. Hence, we have not only a flexible range of course offerings, but also an extended deadline which allows students to be more flexible in their own study-abroad decisions. In most cases students will receive an admissions decision within two weeks of ALBA receiving their application.

Financial Aid Application

Like the admission application, this is also a straightforward and easy form to fill out. Unlike many study abroad programs, ALBA provides direct financial aid to admitted students who require it, and a significant proportion of ALBA students - typically around a quarter - will be receiving some degree of support.
